ଚୁନା ମାଛ ଭଜା / Chuna Macha Bhaja is an authentic and popular odia side dish which goes well with Pakhala. Pakhala with Chuna Macha Bhaja combination is loved by almost all odias. We mostly prefer having it on  summers.
I enjoy it the most whenever i visit my village in summer holidays. We bring fresh chuna macha from the village pond/river and maa cooks them on a typical Chuli (earthen heater). We mostly use Mustard oil to cook these small fishes which increases it's aroma and make it more delicious. The pleasure of eating garma garam chuna macha with basi pakhala on  summer afternoon in your village is something different.  The crave for this combo and miss that village vibe a lot...🍃

Staying away from home brings a lot more craving towards homemade food... So Just thought of trying my hand at cooking something for my lunch and finally ended up making these little pumpkin seed fritters/ boitalu manji bara...With some regular ingredients like boiled potatoes, onions, chilies, coriander leaves, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds' paste and a pinch of salt...perfectly mix those ingredients & fry these fritters with little oil at a low flame.. And serve it with some sliced onions and tomato sauce & I must say this cooking experience was amazing and the fritters were also amazing superb n delicious also... You can surely try this quick and easy to make recipe If you wanna cook something on a busy day.... & don't forget to share your experience with me!!

It needs no Introduction this toothsome dish is a much loved snack in many homes and usually served as a traditional tiffin in different parts of Odisha. 
Among all types of Bara, the famous Dhenkanal Bara of Odisha is said to be the most delicious and mouth watering. A crunchy and crispy texture from outside with an extremely soft centre, Dhenkanal Bara has a tasty aroma of spices.

Bara is a really great option for you when you want to cook or eat something and it is an easy and appetizing dish that is liked by the people of every age group. The key ingredients of Bara is Black gram, Suji (Semolina), green chili, Onion (you can skip it as per your choice) and curry leaves (you can use coriander leaves too).

I must say that a good family meal is a therapy. A favourite family food in that meal is a cherry on the top as this is the time your are the happiest person in the world as you are getting your favourite food in front of you.
Every Odia loves and eat Bhata, Dal and Bhaja more that 100 days in a year. These are humble dishes which are regularly cooked in every odia household. In my case the best version of ଡାଲି (dal) for our family is when my dad cooks it for us with a simple side dish କଲରା ଆଳୁ ଭଜା ( bitterguard and potato bhaji).
And maa serves them to us with Garma Garam Bhata (rice). Mostly we prefer sitting on the earth and having that happy meal over lots of chit chats and childhood talks...

This is the place where I grew up which holds thousand memories of my childhood, thousand endless emotions are attached to it. 
ଆମ ଗାଁ Kudabaruan, Charampa, Bhadrak . Whenever I come to Odisha I make sure to visit my Gaan for atleast a day.. because the morning scene of this place is really an experience to remember. 
Waking up early,  watching the sun rise and soaking the beautiful vibe of the village road, ponds, green paddy fields are some of the unforgettable experiences of my life.
The most exciting and pleasing activity is catching small fishes from the village pond and I know I will never get this pleasing experience anywhere else except Mo Gaan...Away from the dust and rush of the city.
