Sedum stonecrop

When growing sedum, keep in mind that sedum plants need very little attention or care. They will thrive in conditions that many other plants thrive in, but will do just as well in less hospitable areas. They are ideal for that part of your yard that gets too much sun or too little water to grow anything else. A common name for sedum is stonecrop.

Water- as sedum is a succulent , over watering will kill the plant, water once in 3 days or water when top soil starts to dry. (Touch the soil before watering) if soil is still very moist do not water.

Propagation-
Sedum is easily planted. For shorter varieties, simply laying the sedum on the ground where you want it to grow is normally enough to get the sedum plant started there. They will send out roots from wherever the stem is touching the ground and root itself. If you would like to further ensure that the plant will start there, you can add a very thin covering of soil over the plant.

Soil - well drained soil.

I know all of you are well aware of photosynthesis. And maybe thinking I'm jobless 😁to share about it in a post!! This basic knowledge is for a reason. The common questions which worries #plantparent are as below 👇 1. Why my indoor plants do not grow well? 2. Why are my variegated plant turning green? 3. Why do my plant die of root rot? 4. Do indoor plant really require light? 5. Why do I fail propagating? Etc etc etc... If u really can think deeper.. the answer for the above questions is in the post. If u want to know the answer of any above questions or a question of your own regarding plants .. comment your questions. Ps. I do not hold any botany or science degree 😁 I'm just sharing the knowledge of what I learnt from my granny, mother and relatives who are farmer. And some experience of my own trial and errors. I am sure there are many great gardeners helping out beginners. If I'm wrong anywhere please do help me rectify.. happy to learn always 🙏 #photooftheday #photosythesis #greenmantra #greenlove #green #sunlight #gardening #grow #lowmaintenance #homegarden #instagood #indoorplants #nammabangalore #plantparent #plantmom #plantmakepeoplehappy #plantlover #nature #learning #botany #gogreen #plantfood

Common name - peper face, Peperomia obtusifolia , Baby rubber plant.

Light
This evergreen plant loves bright indirect light and can tolerate low light. If placed in direct sun for a long period, the leaves turn pale in color.

Water and fertilizing
Water it moderately during the summer months and reduce the frequency during winter. Watch out for overwatering!

Because it does not develop an extensive root system, it does not need to be lots of fertilizer.

Fed during the spring and summer months with diluted liquid fertilizer. Do NOT fertilize at all during winter.

Soil and repotting
Rich, organically dense potting mix soil is ideal for growing baby rubber plants.

They do not need transplanting often and grow comfortably in their original pot with drainage holes for years before requiring repotting.
Repot them when roots show in drain hole or on top soil.

Can be propagated with cuttings, in water or directly into soil.

Kalanchoe pinnata, formerly known as Bryophyllum pinnatum, also known as the air plant, cathedral bells, life plant, miracle leaf, and Goethe plant is a succulent plant native to Madagascar, which is a popular houseplant and has become naturalized in tropical and subtropical areas.

pinnatum have a variety of uses in the traditional system of medicine in India. They are eaten for diabetes, diuresis, dissolving kidney stones, respiratory tract infections, as well as applied to wounds, boils, and insect bites.
They can be cooked or put raw in salads as well. But the most important use the leaves have is against kidney stones.

Propagation
Here in picture 1 and 2 you can see the tiny saps of this plant.. surprised seeing them grow in leaf??
Yes they are growing in the leaf.
Just like other succulent this also reproduces from leaf.
I just left a leaf on a tissue paper inside a drawer which I open hardly once a week.. in a week I got to see this tiny babies...❤️🍃🍃🌱

Common name - Chrysanthemums or sevanthi in Kannada.

Care
A Chrysanthemum is an herbaceous perennial, which means it has stems that die back at the end of the growing season. New growth emerges from the rootstock every spring, creating a larger chrysanthemum every year until it reaches its maximum size.

Deadhead often for lasting blooms. Take off wilted blooms and dead stems/leaves not only makes your mums look more beautiful, it helps your plant to bloom longer. Once your mums stop blooming, you can place them in the ground outdoors once the weather starts to warm.

Light

Mums need full sun and moist, well-drained soil. You can grow mums in nearly any type of soil, but they need plenty of nutrients, so make sure to enrich the soil with organic material, when planting in the spring.

Question: I purchased a blooming potted chrysanthemum plant. How long do the flowers last? Will this plant continue to bloom through the fall, or is this a onetime shot? Should I discard it after it blooms or will it ever bloom again?

After they finish flowering, garden mums should be cut back far enough to remove all of the faded flowers (about one-quarter their height). If the winter stays very mild, some mums will produce a few more flowers. In late January or early February, garden mums should be cut back to about three inches from the ground. They will stay dormant through the winter and are completely hardy here. New growth usually begins in February or early March when new shoots appear at the base of the old stem stubs.

Banana peels are good fertilizer because of what they do not contain. They contain absolutely no nitrogen. ... This means potassium-rich banana peels are excellent for plants like tomatoes, peppers or flowers.

How to make bannana compost.
Dry the peel to the fullest, grind it and add it to top soil.

Common name- fiddle leaf fig , ficus lyrata.

Light
Fiddle leaf figs prefer lots of bright, filtered light. Keep your fiddle leaf fig near a sunny, east-facing window so it can take in lots of sunshine throughout the day.

Water
Wait for the top inch of your fiddle leaf fig tree’s soil to dry before you pick up your watering can. Lukewarm or room temperature water works best since cold water can put plants into shock. Fiddle leaf figs like thorough waterings, but do not like to sit in water. To prevent this, let the water completely drain out from the bottom and ensure the pot’s tray or saucer is dry. Fiddle leaf fig watering can be a little hard to get the hang of at first, but you can prevent watering issues if you familiarize yourself with its watering warning signs.
An underwatered fiddle leaf fig’s leaves will turn brown along the edges and drop. An overwatered fiddle leaf fig will have both dark brown spots and edges on its leaves along with an unpleasant smell lingering near its soil. You can correct these watering mishaps by either watering less or repotting in fresh soil if it’s overwatered. Or, water it more if it’s underwatered. You should promptly correct any watering mistakes since unchecked problems can result in holey leaves!

Repotting
Your fiddle leaf fig tree is ready for repotting once its roots start peaking out of the bottom of its pot. You can either repot it in a slightly larger pot, or trim the root ball.
